Black Lips officially RUINED for me...
Some of you may know that a fight went down at our local watering hole on Friday night. Normally I could care to shits, but the statement released by Jared Swilley of the Black Lips makes my stomach turn and really just makes him look like a complete bigoted asshole, not to mention a good band look bad. The Selby
I've been meaning to post about The Selby for a while now. Todd selby takes incredible photos of artists, designers and creative personalities in their homes and studios and then posts them on his recently launched website. I love seeing creatives in their natural habitat. My favorite are Mike Gabel and Jennifer Earle, aka Duotard, who are amazing artists and performers. The Selby even made of video of the two.

ESG!
Via Wiki: "The band played their final show on Friday, September 21, 2007 at Chicago's Abbey Pub, during the Estrojam festival."
Well guess what, you have one more chance to see them! Not only are they one of if not the most sampled band of all time, from Bowie to Beasties to Radiohead, they still have one of the freshest sounds out there. Unfortunately, I'll be hanging with ahem ahem two boys from France and some kids from Brooklyn that night BUT I strongly encourage all of you to go! They are in my top three best shows of all time. Seriously, some of the most fun you'll have all year.

Big Brother
The only real understanding I have of CCTV in Britan is through watching Torchwood and they use it to track down aliens. However, British band The Get Out Clause from Manchester have found a rather interesting use for CCTV. Unable to finance a music video they made use of CCTV and the Data Protection Act. After filming their video they requested all the footage from the government and stitched it together to make this.

Ever wonder what life would be like if we could trade music from ipod to ipod. Well, now you can with the mishare. It works on open source tools to basically open up all the databases on your ipod so you can send music, videos, pictures and files. Steve Jobs is not going to be happy about this one.
