just what the world needs

another manske boy.

i'm ecstatic to announce that my brother, Matt, and his woman, Misket, pushed, panted and squeezed out Theodore Lee-Manske yesterday, September 25, at about 2:30pm. Weighing in at 7 lbs, 14 oz, he is 21.5 inches long. Uncle Drrrty could make an "inches" joke, but he'll wait until Theo's old enough to understand them. And, yes, I've already bought him a Spider-Man onesie.

And all this excitment just hours before I got my grubby hands on Halo 3. A wonderful day indeed.

You art directors and designers, have a field day with my Photoshop skills, but I thought this image was appropriate.

across the universe

i know the reviews are pretty bad, it's been described as hair with better music, and some of you may or may not have laughed during the trailer... but any world julie taymor creates, i'd like to see.

it's bound to be beautiful to look at, if nothing else.

they filmed some scenes in my neighborhood. i remember walking over to clinton st. a couple years ago wondering, why does it look like a bad acid trip around here... now i know.

oh and a related piece of news for nate. (although i imagine you already heard. and found exclusive pictures of the costume drawings. and wrote an opinion piece for superhero hype. and may in fact, already be camped out on 42nd street for tickets.)

my week.

my week has been slacking lately. probably because i've been so busy. so this is actually my week from two fridays ago. and on that night, we went to see battles at the south street seaport for the last show of the summer. josh got all trippy at a sushi place after the show.

on saturday, jac and tom drove us to connecticut.

at the lake, we made some new friends. carla, the frog queen, and 'tom the toad'.

this is one type of summer sizzler.

but this is the real summer sizzler (photo courtesy: jacquie O).

i tried my hand at the theramin. poorly.

this is otis. he's one of the sweetest pooches i walk, but he has a bad habit of barking at people as they go to pet him. i have to carry him up and down stairs because supposedly they're bad for his back. he's a long haired dachsund, and he's our pet of the week.

on wednesday, jacquie and i went to the richard serra exhibit at the moma. really nice stuff. it ended on the 10th. glad to have seen it.

aka how bout them apples?
i'm sure everybody's heard they dropped the price of the iphone by $200 already. made a lot of people happy. and a lot of people hoppin mad.

so this was pretty smart move:

...even though we are making the right decision to lower the price of iPhone, and even though the technology road is bumpy, we need to do a better job taking care of our early iPhone customers as we aggressively go after new ones with a lower price. Our early customers trusted us, and we must live up to that trust with our actions in moments like these.

Therefore, we have decided to offer every iPhone customer who purchased an iPhone from either Apple or AT&T, and who is not receiving a rebate or any other consideration, a $100 store credit towards the purchase of any product at an Apple Retail Store or the Apple Online Store. Details are still being worked out and will be posted on Apple's website next week. Stay tuned.

the coolest barge i've come across. The Science Barge is a sustainable urban farm designed by New York Sun Works, an environmental nonprofit organization. The Science Barge tours New York City’s public waterfront parks, offering sustainability education programs to wide audiences.

don't forget, the art parade is this saturday at 4pm in my native land of soho. if you haven't seen this you're missing out. galleries and artists all over the city get their snob-on and make floats, or just dress up in slutty costumes. the scissor siters usually play on a big float and its always a grand ol' time. its like a high-brow version of the halloween parade.

starts at houston and west fourth, goes down west 4th street, down grand and over to deitch projects. let me know if you'll be there and we can pick a place to meet beforehand.

More arsty.

seems like thursday is the official day for art openings.

reed space 7-11 PM

and don't forget jac's icelandic woman too.

anyone for some earth-saving?

This is Leo DiCaprio's new movie on our global warming crisis.

Anyone interested in a screening, maybe this coming weekend?

It's playing at the Sunshine theater.
