while obama was busy getting our hope up,
lykke li was rocking some biker shorts under a leotard at (le) poisson rouge.
that's one of two cover/mashups she performed, the other was pretty silly fun too. (the stage was in the round in case you're wondering why she's facing the other way a lot.) i'm going for a third dose at music hall next month if anyone wants to join.
aw. i can't believe we're swede-less right now. someone get back here.

everybody's doing it,
so i had to post some crystal castles news too. apparently their S/T album is officially out, which i totally knew because i had definitely not already downloaded it illegally. and they're all recovered from car wrecks and broken ribs and south by southwest and bbq ribs, and are back in town to play a couple shows. ow owww. i know nick's excited cause it's been worked into all his chat statuses for the last 2 weeks.
the photos above are from their official sxsw showcase at emo's (march 08) and are not enhanced by any drug use (unless you count sparks.) the photos below are old school, from their halloween show at annex (oct 06).

McCarren Park Pool
Yes, they are definitely reopening the pool next summer but that doesn't mean our concerts have to stop. The New York City Department of Parks and Recreations is currently conducting a survey in order to see what the people want out of McCarren Park Pool. I know we don't want the party to stop so fill it out kids!

Going Back to My Roots
Don't think I don't know where I came from. It's nice to be bloggin all over the place. Anyways, this is obvies more relevant for the let's do this kids. Anyways, my friends run this little festival in SF called Noisepop and there are some good bands that play, one of whom was our little Ghostland Observatory (who by the way are pretty much HUGE now). Anyways, they played a two and a half hour set, WTF? Did we even know they had that many songs? They had two encores! Awesome for them. So while Robbie was drinking their beer in the dressing room, my friend Julie was out there getting some good pics of the band which you can check out HERE.

nico muhly anyone?
was trying to make some iclandic friends on myspace and found out two guys who are basically bjorks "right hand men" are performing at carnegie hall on the 16th. nico muhly has worked with bjork & phillip glass and valgeir sigu∂sson has worked on nearly every one of bjork's albums (&movie soundtracks). no idea what we're in for exactly. sounds like a one-time performance but this is definitely going to be the indie-hipster show of the month that no one will hear about until its over. if i'm wrong you can kick me.
